Graeme College is a community school that was originally established as a non-denominational school for boys in 1873. As might be expected, it is a school steeped in tradition. The school’s motto Virtute et Opera (through courage and hard work) is actively supported by all school staff.
This is a dynamic environment in which to work. Grahamstown is a family town and an academic environment with access to Rhodes University. Currently catering for boys from Grades 00 to 12, the school aims at creating a positive learning environment in which little boys can grow into young men. Boys are encouraged to become involved in school life and, in order to develop each to their full potential, take an active part in the academic work in the classroom, as well as committing themselves to the school’s extensive extramural programme. In accordance with this applicants need to enjoy working with children, both to extend their knowledge in the classroom as well as contributing extramurally.
