Trigonometry lessons brought to life by building 3D models https://graemecollege.co.za/trigonometry-lessons-brought-to-life-by-building-3d-models/ Wed, 30 Jul 2025 07:51:32 +0000 https://graemecollege.co.za/?p=4766 On Tuesday, the Grade 11 Mathematics classes brought their Trigonometry lessons to life by building 3D models. Each learner received paper and step-by-step instructions to construct a geometric shape, which they then took onto campus to find real-world spaces where their models could fit.
This hands-on activity encouraged learners to explore practical applications of Trigonometry, such as calculating angles, heights, and distances in everyday environments. Discussions followed on how this branch of mathematics plays a role in architecture, navigation, engineering and more.
The models will continue to be used in upcoming lessons as tools to deepen their understanding of Trigonometric concepts in a fun and engaging way.
