There’s something special about a team that refuses to back down — and our 1st hockey team proved exactly that at the Belgotex Sport Easter Hockey Tournament 2026.

Over the course of four intense days, the team competed in one of the biggest school hockey festivals in the region. With 128 teams, 448 matches, and 12 turfs, the scale of the tournament was nothing short of massive. Every game demanded resilience, focus, and teamwork — and our players rose to the challenge.

Despite tough competition, the team delivered a strong overall performance, finishing 39th out of 64 teams. While the results only tell part of the story, the real achievement lay in the grit, determination, and growth shown throughout the tournament.

Match Highlights

The team faced a series of challenging fixtures:

  • A hard-fought match against Penryn ended in a 3–0 result.
  • A thrilling 1–1 draw against Hellenic Academy (Zimbabwe) saw the team hold their nerve and secure a win on showdowns.
  • Another tightly contested 1–1 draw against Parel Vallei Invitational unfortunately ended in a narrow loss on showdowns.

Each match tested the team in different ways, but they consistently showed character and the ability to compete at a high level.

Standout Performance

A special mention goes to Likhona Cakata, who was deservedly named Man of the Match for his outstanding performance. His effort, skill, and impact on the field were a true highlight of the tournament.

A Thank You to Our Sponsor

None of this would have been possible without the support behind the scenes. We extend our sincere gratitude to The Courier Guy for sponsoring our kit and backing the team throughout this journey.

Looking Ahead

This tournament was more than just results — it was about growth, teamwork, and building momentum for the future. The experience gained over these four days will no doubt shape the team as they continue their season.

We couldn’t be prouder. 💙
