Pineapples and yoghurt…💛💙
Rondebosch Grade 7 Exchange – Eastern Cape adventures begin! 🌿🚜🍍 Wednesday and Thursday last week.
It’s that exciting time of the year again as we welcome our Grade 7 exchange learners from Rondebosch Boys’ Preparatory School to the Eastern Cape!
Now in its fourth year, this special exchange programme provides boys with a unique opportunity to step outside their familiar surroundings and experience life in another province. For many of the learners, it is a rare chance to travel beyond their home province, immerse themselves in a different community and enjoy an authentic taste of Eastern Cape life and hospitality.
On Wednesday, the boys arrived and met their Graeme host families at the Graemian Centre. Excitement filled the air as new friendships were formed and the adventure officially began. Over the weekend, the visitors enjoyed a variety of experiences with their host families, creating memories that will last a lifetime.
Thursday’s programme featured one of the annual highlights – a visit to the Muir family’s farm, where the boys learned about pineapple farming and gained firsthand insight into one of the region’s important agricultural industries. The day continued with a visit to a small farm outside Port Alfred, where the learners rolled up their sleeves and made delicious homemade yoghurt while learning about sustainable farming practices.
What an incredible start to what promises to be an unforgettable week of learning, friendship and adventure in the Eastern Cape! We look forward to sharing more highlights from their journey. 🌞🍍🐄🤝
