Rondebosch Grade 7 Exchange adventures continue! 🦌🌿

Last Friday, our Grade 7 exchange learners from Rondebosch and our boys enjoyed another memorable day of uniquely Eastern Cape experiences as their week of adventure and discovery continued.

As the Eastern Cape is well known for its rich hunting and conservation heritage, the boys spent the day learning about this important aspect of rural life. They visited a farm in Salem, where they were introduced to responsible hunting practices, firearm safetynand the role that hunting can play in conservation and wildlife management. Under expert supervision, the boys also had the opportunity to fire a hunting rifle! An experience that was both exciting and educational.

The group then visited Lauristen Taxidermy, where they learned about the intricate process of taxidermy. They gained insight into how specimens are carefully preserved, the skills required to create lifelike displays and the important role taxidermy can play in education, research, conservationn and preserving South Africa’s natural heritage. The visit offered a fascinating look behind the scenes at a craft that combines science, artistry and a deep appreciation for wildlife.

The day was filled with learning, new experiences and plenty of excitement, giving the boys yet another authentic taste of life in the Eastern Cape. Most importantly, the exchange continues to build friendships, broaden horizons and create memories that will last a lifetime.

We look forward to sharing more highlights from this wonderful exchange programme! 🌿🦌🤝
