Congratulations to our U19 Provincial Cricketers!
Congratulations to all our cricketers who are receiving their provincial selection news at the moment. The flagship U19 side was recently announced, with four Graeme College players selected for the team.
Corbin Tidbury:
Corbin’s selection comes as no surprise. Last year, he earned selection for the SA U19 Colts team after representing the CSA Invitational XI at the Khaya Majola Week. He was named Bowler of the Week at the National U16 Week and subsequently earned All-Rounder of the Week honours for his performances in the Gold Section of the U19 Khaya Majola Week.
This year, he will represent his province and compete in the Platinum Section for the first time.
Enrique Strydom:
Last year, Enrique was also selected for the CSA Invitation XI, competing in the U19 Khaya Majola Gold Section. This selection was richly deserved after a fantastic year of cricket in which he finished as the highest run-scorer for the Graeme College 1st XI — an impressive achievement in such a powerful batting line-up.
Enrique has continued his prolific form this term, producing superb performances in Zimbabwe and in the local matches since returning.
Zuko Pontshi:
Without a doubt, Zuko is one of the most exciting players in the country. A serious knee injury set him back last year and robbed him of the opportunity to represent the U19 side. He had previously represented the CSA Invitation XI at the Khaya Majola Week.
He will be chomping at the bit to showcase his talent on the biggest stage once again this year. Although he has scored a number of half-centuries this term, we have yet to see the very best of him. Watch this space!
Luphelo Mdyesha:
Luphelo has represented his province in numerous teams, and this will be his final opportunity to represent the province at the highest level. He has been a stalwart of the Graeme College 1st XI for years and will be eager to showcase his full potential as he brings his school cricket career to a close.
Congratulations to Corbin, Enrique, Zuko and Luphelo on this outstanding achievement. We wish them all the best as they prepare to represent their province!
