Do you have this amazing app? Exploring nature with iNaturalist!

Last Friday, we had the pleasure of hosting Prof. Vetter, Prof. Peter, and Bridget, a PhD student from the Botany Department at RU, for an exciting hands-on learning experience on campus.

Together with the Campus and Environment Committee, they introduced a group of eager students to the wonders of iNaturalist; an incredible app that helps identify plants and animals. The focus was on the diverse plant life around us, kickstarting an exciting project to identify and label indigenous trees on campus.

This is just the beginning of a much larger plan to build a comprehensive database of the unique flora and fauna found right here on campus. With the help of iNaturalist, we’re creating a living record of the biodiversity we share our space with, one plant at a time.
