Rotary Club of Grahamstown Presentation
On Thursday, four Grade 11 learners had the privilege of speaking at the Rotary Club of Grahamstown during their lunchtime meeting.
Donovan Pretorius and Luphawulwethu Madolo shared their reflections on the Rotary Youth Leadership Awards (RYLA) from last term. They spoke candidly about the immense privilege of attending the program, how it fostered personal growth, and broadened their perspective on the opportunities around them. They also expressed heartfelt gratitude to the Club for sponsoring their RYLA weekend.
Hunta Van Zyl returned to the Club to discuss his upcoming exchange trip to Germany in June. He thanked the Rotarians for their generous support in helping him raise funds for this exciting opportunity. The highlight of the afternoon was Paul, our German exchange student, who delighted the Rotarians with stories of his experiences in South Africa, at Graeme College and beyond.
The Rotarians engaged all four learners with thoughtful questions, which they answered confidently, leaving a lasting positive impression. It was inspiring to witness such genuine interaction between the students and the adults who clearly care about their growth and achievements.
All four boys were exemplary ambassadors for themselves and their school, demonstrating maturity, gratitude and enthusiasm.Rotary Club of Grahamstown
