Slovenia – what an incredible adventure and journey for Rory Roberson!

During the June holidays, Rory Robertson travelled to Kranjska Gora, Slovenia, to represent South Africa as a member of the SA Blue Junior team at the World Scholars’ Debate Academy (WSDA), held from 19–28 June. The tournament brought together more than 200 debaters from some of the world’s strongest debating nations, providing a highly competitive international platform for young speakers.

Rory and SA Blue delivered an excellent performance, finishing 4th in the Open Division, while fellow South African team SA Red won the tournament. Rory also enjoyed outstanding individual success, placing 10th overall among more than 200 competitors.

This achievement reflects Rory’s dedication, hard work and commitment to debating, and is a testament to the high standard of South African debating on the international stage. Congratulations to Rory on representing both South Africa and our school with distinction.
