Unforgettable hospitality and true cricket spirit! Graeme College Tour to Zimbabwe update:
What a way to kick off the tour! After a gruelling pre-dawn travel day, covering Makhanda to Gqeberha, OR Tambo, Harare, and finally Marondera, our boys finally arrived at 21:30. However a stunning late-night supper that evening has set the tone for world-class hospitality that the boys have been experiencing.
A massive thank you to Peterhouse Director of Cricket Sean Irvine and Head Coach Tino Matiringe for being exceptional hosts throughout our stay, connected seamlessly through former coach Andrew Durham.
While the historic rivalry between Graeme College and Peterhouse always brings out competitive, high-level cricket on the field, it is the lifelong friendships, mutual respect and pure spirit of the game off the field that truly defines this fixture.
Beyond the boundary, the boys also enjoyed an incredible experience visiting the game reserve right on the Peterhouse school premises before making the trip back to Harare St George’s.
With the matric players absent due to preliminary exams, this young Graeme College squad now gears up for four crucial warm-up fixtures over the next two days to build momentum before the St George’s Cabs Tournament begins on Thursday.
