We often speak about what it means to be a Graemian and the values we uphold, the character we strive to build and the spirit that binds us together as a school community. These ideals are not only found in big achievements or on the sports field, but in the quiet, everyday moments that often go unseen.

Yesterday, a mother captured one of those moments. A high school boy noticed a Grade 1 learner struggling with his tie and stopped to help him. No audience, no expectation of recognition; just a simple act of kindness and care. It is in moments like these that the true spirit of Graeme College comes to life.

We are reminded of our creed which is:

IF a boy can make a victim of another who proves to be an introvert and less confident than he is, then he knows nothing of the spirit of Graeme College. IF a boy can partake in or even look upon bullying without regret and counter action, then he knows nothing of the spirit of Graeme College.

IF a boy can look down on another less physical than himself, then he knows nothing of the spirit of Graeme College.

IF a boy walks so tall that he cannot stoop to help those that have fallen, then he knows nothing of the spirit of Graeme College.

This is what it means to be a Graemian.
